Chiangmai offices were officially opened for Group operations in 2007. Prior to that Group Asia operations were run from Singapore, which currently acts as administrative centre.
Chiangmai is just 55 minutes by air from Bangkok, and is directly connected by International flights to Singapore, Myanmar, Hong Kong, China, Vietnam and other countries. Full immigration services are provided at Chiangmai International Airport.
The City of Chiangmai offers all the services of any international business city. In addition to being one of the most charming, highly cultural and ancient cities of the world, with an established history going back over 700 years, to its founding in 1296.AD.
Chiangmai with its striking mountainous landscape and numerous ancient Temples, and as noted by Conde Nast Traveler, also consistently rates in the top five destinations for independent (FIT) travellers and Retirees from Europe, Japan, United Kingdom, Scandinavia, Australia and the United States of America to name but a few.
The city boasts the Royal Palace of Phuping, high on Mount Suthep Phui National Park. This was a favorite destination of the Kingdoms late Monarch, His Majesty King Bhumipol Adulyadej The Great, Rama 9 of the Chakri dynasty.
Today the Palace can be visited by the public. Likewise the Royal Villa of the late Princess Mother at Mount Doi Thung some three (3) hours north of Chiangmai city by road through breathtaking mountain scenery.
Yet the most interesting and informative part of any visit to Mount Doi Thung is the indoor display and multi level museum, The Hall of Inspiration, dedicated to factual information regarding the activities and significant achievements of the late King Bhumipol and his dynasty.
This museum is one of Thailands best kept secrets.
And is a must visit for anyone with genuine interest in the work and true achievements of this long serving Monarch and Father of all Thai people.
Importantly, and increasingly so, Chiangmai is also the gateway, both from the point of view of direct land and air access as well as extremely strong cultural and historic connections, to Myanmar, once known as Burma.
Myanmar, since partial democratisation under Aung San Suu Kyi in 2016, offers significant opportunities for Investment and Business in general.
